What is being built

A physical form of wonder,
made permanent in landscape and light.

The Wonder Between is not only a monument. Not only a retreat. Not only a public artwork. Not only a school. It is a physical, emotional, educational, and symbolic place where humanity can walk through nonlinear thinking.

A large-scale land-art sanctuary, a public garden, a creative retreat, a nonlinear school and a pilgrimage site — inspired by the intelligence of the octopus. Eight flowing arms through the landscape. Three heart chambers at the centre. Two hundred and fifty Founder Portals around them.

The Myth of 250

The number 250 becomes
a symbolic architecture.

  1. 01

    250 Founding Members

    The human foundation.

  2. 02

    250 Founder Portals

    The architectural foundation.

  3. 03

    250 Children's Questions

    The soul foundation.

  4. 04

    250 Acts of Wonder

    The global activation.

  5. 05

    250 Lights

    The annual ritual.

A Founding Member is not simply member number 83. They become Portal 83. Question 83. Light 83. Guardian 83.

The Eight Arms

Eight paths. Each one a theme,
an experience, an invitation.

The Arm of Wonder

Awe, curiosity, imagination, the childlike mind.

Different brains, different rhythms, different forms of genius.

Arm 04

The Arm of Creativity

Art, play, invention, music, storytelling, making.

The Arm of Nature

The landscape itself as teacher, collaborator, healer.

Arm 06

The Arm of Technology

AI, open systems, human–machine creativity, ethical imagination.

Arm 07

Listening, grief, belonging, silence, reconnection.

Arm 08

The Arm of The Unsolvable

The questions humanity avoids because they are too important.

The Three Heart Chambers

At the centre, three chambers.
The emotional core of the wonder.

1

Heart of Silence

A space without performance. No phones. No noise. A chamber for stillness, awe, and rest.

2

Heart of Questions

A circular chamber holding the 250 children's questions. Visitors come to be changed by them.

3

Heart of Creation

A living studio where artists, children, scientists and Founding Members create together.

The Founder Portals

A portal is not a plaque.
It is a threshold.

Each Founding Member is honoured through one permanent portal. It may hold a number, a name, a single sentence of intention, one paired child's question, a small light source, a material linked to place, an audio passage, and a quiet ritual action for visitors.

The adult name is on the outside. The child's question is inside. An adult helped build this. A child gave it meaning.

Children as Co-Architects

250 questions children
ask humanity.

The project begins with a global invitation. Children submit questions through schools, families, community groups, refugee learning spaces, neurodivergent networks, art classes, youth clubs and local Octopus circles — as writing, drawings, voice, video, symbols, clay, songs, or letters to the future.

The final 250 are selected with care, diversity, protection and dignity. Children are not used for marketing. Their questions are protected as gifts.

One Space, in Particular

The Room Adults
Cannot Enter Alone.

Adults may only enter with a child, or by carrying a question written by a child. Inside: tiny doors inside large doors, mirrors close to the floor, whisper tubes, low windows, secret question drawers, drawings turned into glass or light, sensory-friendly corners, and a ceiling of moving stars.

The Visitor Journey

Leave the straight line here.

  1. 01

    Arrival

Visitors arrive through a simple threshold. The first message is not explanatory. It is emotional.

  2. 02

    The First Path

Walk one of the eight arms. Encounter portals, questions, water, trees, stones, sounds, and small acts of wonder.

  3. 03

    The Founder Portal

Pause at a single portal. Read one adult intention. Hear one child's question. Carry it inward.

  4. 04

    The Three Hearts

Move through Silence, then Questions, then Creation. The order matters.

  5. 05

    The Return

Leave with a question of your own, written, drawn, or unspoken.

Where Should It Be Built?

Land made from water.

The location must do more than provide land. It must carry meaning. It should represent transformation. It should connect to water, land, nature, or human imagination. It should feel like a threshold between old and new worlds.

Recommendation: Flevoland, The Netherlands — for the main permanent wonder. Symbolically perfect: land made from water. Accessible from Amsterdam and Schiphol. A second site in Alentejo, Portugal, as a southern retreat campus: silence, stars, residencies.
